Limpopo Province

About Limpopo
Simply your best choice in travel

Limpopo – South Africa’s northern most province, lies within the great curve of the Limpopo River. One of the most beautiful areas of South Africa – Limpopo boasts majestic mountains, indigenous forests and unspoilt wilderness.
Bordering three countries, Limpopo is the gateway to the rest of Africa with Botswana to the west, Zimbabwe to the north and Mozambique to the east.

In the eastern region lays the largest Game Reserve in South Africa the Kruger National Park. Still the major highlight of a visit to South Africa, and covering nearly 7720 square miles of terrain, this reserve was one of the world’s first wildlife conservation areas. The first traveller entered into the Kruger National Park in 1927 – for a fee of One Pound!

Within the scenic surroundings of the Kruger National Park, you will be amid roughly 150 species of mammals, more than 500 species of bird and more than 300 species of trees. This reserve also includes the “Big Five” – Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo.

In 2002 it became part of Africa’s largest game park when Kruger National Park was joined with Limpopo National Park in Mozambique and Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe to form the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park.
